"One of the most encouraging promises found in the Scripture is that the Lord is attentive to the cries of His children. (Ps. 18:6, 34:17 and 61:1-2 are few examples.) As Christians, we have individual access to the God of the universe through prayer and by grace, we have a compassionate Heavenly Father who hears our prayer and responds in love for His glory and our good." (Paul David Tripp)
Our intention as a church is to use the month of November to earnestly pray to God on behalf of ourselves, our loved ones, our church and our community. If you'd like, you may use the ACTS model as you pray:
A - Adoration (Praising God)
C - Confession (Acknowledging sin)
T - Thanksgiving (Gratitude for God's care)
S - Supplication (Asking sincerely)
Pick a quiet place where you can be alone with God. If you'd like, start your time by reading one of the scripture verses listed below. Spend some time thinking about the scripture and reflect on what God is bringing to your mind. Ask God to help you apply what you are learning. As a church we will also be praying for Penn State students. Please pray that additional students will come to campus ministry groups and that students will begin to attend DVCC.
Don't worry if you miss a day, this is not an exercise in perfection. the hope is that you'll pray more than you have in the past and less that you will in the future.
Keep track of answered prayers and any guidance or insights that God may give you throughout the month.
